The Client:

Introduced by a mutual friend, the engaged couple (see above), had been actively looking for a designer to take on the bulk of their wedding & wedding inclusive events when we met. Thanks to the outside pressure from both sides of the aisle to get planning underway as quickly as possible, they were already drowning in to do lists, rather than enjoying their engagement. Over the next 6+ months, the three of us worked in tandem, to discover and realize a vision for the events leading up to, over, and through the BIG day, that was all their own.

Save the Date
A little more than 6 months out from the big day, the 3 of us met to discuss the first of many design landmarks on the way to the altar, their "Save the Date" cards. Having previously decided on a date for the following spring, they came prepared with with a photo & tagline already in mind. From there, it was a matter of cleaning up the photo, adding the pertinent information, and formatting the design for print & web media alike.

Wedding Logo
When it comes to big events with more than one gathering, like the wedding at hand, for example, a logo is an excellent way to maintain consistency across the board. With their approval of the final design below, the logo became the couple's signature, adorning everything from cocktail napkins to wedding weekend itineraries moving forward.

The Wedding Party
After "Save the Date's" went out, both the groom & bride to be, wanted to officially ask the intended best man/maid of honor, groomsmen/bridesmaids to join their respective wedding parties. The final card designs, featured below, were hand-delivered to a select few at their own discretion. Both formal in appearance, but conversational in tone, they were perfect for the task at hand.

Bachelor Weekend
The next big to-do for the couple was their separate, but simultaneous bachelor/bachelorette weekends planned for the end of February. Meeting with the groom first to get the lowdown on this preemptive boys' weekend of his, was a very fruitful endeavor for the impending invitation source material. Since he'd be going (going) back (back) to Cali (Cali)fornia, we went with an "Old Hollywood", gentlemen about town, kind of vibe, as you can see from the design development process & the final design documented below.

Bachelorette Weekend
Meeting with the bride-to-be next, to discuss her own girls' trip ahead, she came prepared with visuals of the scenic spa in Arizona they'd be spending the weekend at. Together, we brainstormed a number of ways to capture the essence of this oasis-like haven in the desert as well as the overall significance of the weekend away, and ended up with this girl coded gem of a desert view featured below.

The Bridal Brunch
The bridal shower, or bridal brunch in this case, was already set for a month post bachelor/bachelorette weekends, and although invitations wouldn't go out until the customary 30 days before the event, time was still ticking. Aside from the venue, date, and guest-list, everything from the theme to the number of designs needed was very much still up in the air. Sitting down with the bride-to-be, her mom, her soon to be mother in law, and her maid of honor to get some clarity went about as well as expected. Unexpectedly however, the women slowly came around to this blushing bride, champagne toast concept the actual bride, herself, had put out there. Check out the final designs, below.

The BIG Day
The overarching theme of the wedding, "Golden Hour", was previously worked out between the bride & groom before planning really got underway. Upon revisiting, their vision was much clearer, and once they committed to the floral ornaments & script styles, they designs were pretty easy to pin down from there. Using the final invitation below, as the blueprint for the rest of the wedding weekend, the added designs were a breeze.

We Thank You
At the reception, the newlywed bride & groom both gifted a little token of their appreciation to their best man/groomsman, maid of honor/bridesmaids for joining them on their journey to the altar. The thank you card below was a last minute design at the request of the bride & groom to add a more personal than formal, finishing touch.
